No? Well here's just a brief synopsis
For the DBR Challenge I signed up for in June - I asked that some books be put on hold. AND I STILL DON'T HAVE THEM!!!! (I asked for the book in JUNE) And get this, they have the new GhostGirl out - Homecoming . . . BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE 1st!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:X
So I was wondering what sites are out there that I could use. I've even been toying with the idea of creating my own library and telling the State Of New Hampshire that they NEED to fix the pitiful excuses called "libraries" in this state. *It's not too obvious that this is a sensitive subject right ;)*
Ok. So I have been looking at bookmooch but what worries me is 1) the points system and 2) what if I stop using it? Won't it make me look bad and therefore be less likely to mooch books? And if you give the book away do you get it back?! I don't know.
So does anyone know of other sites out there that are out there? Bookmooch scares me :/

Don't be afraid! BookMooch is awesome! What scares you about the point system?
I don't get it . . . well I do but don't. Like I know me - I'll be mooching more books than I have - because I only have a few books and that would make me in the negative points.
I don't know much about Bookmooch, but I'm considering joining. I've heard of people who are part of something called Paperback Swap. Maybe you can look into that?
Paperback Swap is seriously awesome. You should look into that-it won't let you get negative points and you can't get books unless you have books. There is also SwapTree. Hope I helped!
Oh, and your library DOES suck!

Amanda - I'll have to check that out!! Thanks :)
Jessica - I'll look into SwapTree too!!!
Thank you guys so much!!
Well actually you can't have negative points. You have to have a mooch ratio of 2:1 or less so you can only mooch twice as many as you've sent.
It seems all the sites I'm looking into - you need credits to get books. But since I've moved, I left all my other books back home :( So my book selection is small.
Aargh I know what you mean, the libraries where I live just suck :( In fact I don't even bother going because it's a waste of time.
I haven't joined any of these book swapping sites although they sound great...but I'd have to ship internationally since I don't live in the US and that would cost me more than buying a new book :/
Hmmm. I guess I should - I mean I do have books that just sit on my shelf - can you mooch the books you've already mooched? Like say I just mooched book A - do I give it back? Or but it on my Moochable book list?
I will no longer speak ill of my local library...in the grand scheme of things, it's pretty darn good (at least when you put things on hold...they'll even ship them over from others libraries, so that's a plus).
As others have mentioned, there's Book Mooch and Paperback Swap. I haven't used Book Mooch, so can't answer your question about whether a mooched book would become moochable once you've finished with it. In fact, I'm kinda curious to find out myself.
BookMooch is awesome, I just started it- I was a little scared too, I get it :) I haven't heard of Swaptree and Paperback swap- I'll check it out!
P.S. I got your comment about not knowing how to get review copies- I can't right now, coz my dad's yelling at me to get off, but I'll be glad to help you with whatever questions you have, just email me :)
Oh, another thing you can do for books is... you know how you have really good blogger friends (like me! ;D)? Lots of people trade books or, if they have review copies they won't read again (a surprising amount of them :P), they'll trade or give them to you.
Ann-Kat : I keep thinking about that. Like if I mooch a book do they want it back? I check the other sites and they are similar to mooch.
Meggin - Why didn't I think of that?! Swapping with other bloggers! *DUH!!*
The only thing is my book list is limited.
